Part of the reason why they aren't in the next 5 years is because the technology isn't perfect to just switch over from one to another. It is also dependent upon the climate & geography of each country.
If countries use nuclear it would be easier, e.g UK has all but eliminated coal in electricity generation.
Norway despite it's oil reserves & production produces 92% of it's electricity from hydropower.
Australia is blessed with a climate & geography that makes it a lot easier to transition to net zero compared to say Japan, especially taking into consideration population size.
If you don't believe in anthropogenic climate change then yes I can understand a view that we should wait until the technology is perfect before doing anything.
