I’m very impressed with Norway.
The are blessed with a topography that is unrivalled anywhere on the planet, suited to harnessing hydro power generation.
However there are very few countries that have their Blessing and if we look at Australia, the few options that we have available to try and harness some of the joys of cheapish hydropower, upset our Greenie tree hugger’s no end.
The Franklin River idea springs to mind.
Norway, considering its addiction to fossil fuel generated wealth is hardly the best example for the bed wetter’s to cling too.
I heard on the radio this arvo, the number of hydropower projects across Australia is impressive with many more projects on the go than I could ever imagine.
however, right at the end of this advertisement for our commitment to pumped hydropower was the Kicker.
These projects can only be described as micro projects.
A farmer pumps dam water up a hill and then can access the piddling amount of energy it provides for his own needs, it won’t be supplying the grid with the energy it needs to keep the lights on for the rest of the local community.
PS If someone asks you to provide a country that proves that our renewable’s commitment works/provides enough energy to maintain grid stability and reliability to power our country.
Take it as a given that we want to know of a country that has, even a modest manufacturing industry.
