I think is one of the most misunderstood features of Kangankunde and the quality has been over-promoted. Yes, its a large resource, but its not exceptional in terms of quality. Kangankunde's recent MRE indicated 2.19% REO @ 20.2% NdPR = 0.44% Total NdPr.
Consider that LYC is 8.1% TREO @ 23% NdPr = 1.9% Total NdPr
PEK is 4.8% TREO @ 21% NdPr = 1.0% Total NdPr
ARU is 2.9% TREO @ 26% NdPr = 0.7% Total NdPr
In simple terms, Lynas have 4.3 times as much NdPr per tonne in Mt Weld than at Kangankunde. On a grade basis, Kangankunde seems fairly average by industry standards.
