It's basically confirming what I posted in my reply to you a couple of hours before this was posted.
However there are a couple of things they never mentioned
1/ using higher blends of synthetic decreases the range of the vehicle. OEM's atm are putting ever increasing larger batteries in their vehicles for better range in the west
2/ the world is running out of power and synthetic is 3x more power intensive to make compared to natural. Saying making synthetic via hydro is clean isn't. As I posted yesterday, it is a shell game. In Sweden, if every current proposed project gets built, power consumption will be 3x the amount hydro can produce.
I've said this many time over the years. US and EU battery manufactures will be supplied by China for decades. The west simply isn't building supply fast enough to meet demand. In the US, OEM's will prioritise critical material which meets the IRA for vehicles which qualify while using China for those which don't. The EU has a 60% limit on critical material coming from 1 country. 60% is high for a reason.
The problem is price and Normandy's solution using tariffs might be the answer. The US has a tariff on graphite but Musk convinced Trump to suspend it. Biden hasn't done anything to reverse the decision
