My observations from the data in the Notice.. Gina began accumulating in the days following Alb's $2.50 offer. She potentially had a $3 target limit at that point as that's around where her acquisitions went.

Then compare against the chart for the 16th July. The price went to $3.19 on large volume.

It wasn't Gina and couldn't have been Alb either as their $2.50 offer was still live?

Possibilities?.. short cover? Fund taking position? Another interested party? Mass FOMO? Insider trading as related to the logistics contract being awarded in the next 2 days?

If another interested party, did the $3.19 indicate they have/ had a $3.20 price target limit?

I'm not sure Gina doing another POSCO/Hancock (Senex) style play on Albemarle, or Hancock/MIN play is out of the question either. Those strategies have worked well for her.

My understanding is that because Gina hasn't declared a takeover intention she can still accumulate on market to 19.9% before having to change her status and declare her intent. This could mean plenty more buying like she did before, up to her new target. What that is would just be a guess. I'm sure plenty will be thinking $3.20 or $3.50.

Whatever the moves afoot, the 16th July is still of particular interest so would love to hear thoughts on this; along with the other.

Never a dull moment with the Lion. I'm just glad it's not over and we're hopefully not giving away the Golden Goose for $3.
