Senator Jacinta Price in fine form at the National Press Club, page-6

@pints; Jacinta Price's betrayal of Aboriginal Peoples was on full display at the National Press Club today as she kicked own goals:

1. Condemning the 'Voice to Parliament' as LIES - thereby casting a massive slur on those First Nations Peoples who contributed to the 'Uluru Statement from the Heart', smearing them as liars.
2. Jacinta Price claimed that what is really needed is ACCOUNTABILITY and NOT a 'Voice to Parliament' - she appears to be unaware that John Howard terminated ATSIC and that other earlier 'voices' were also scrapped by the Coalition. She thereby revealed that the only people she wants to have a voice to Parliament are those privileged and wealthy enough to become members of Parliament - herself and Warren Mundine for example.
3. Price bemoaned that $33 Billion is spent each year on 'Closing the Gap'. This was at best a gross misrepresentation of reality. The overwhelming majority of those funds are also provided to non-indigenous Australians [eg. via Medicare] and when boiled down just $3 Billion extra is to support to Australia's First Nations Peoples. Support for 'Closing the Gap' is absolutely dwarfed by how the Coalition has supported wealthy BUSINESS INTERESTS with JobKeeper, tax concessions, rebates, subsidies, grants, no interest and low interest low doc loans, cutting red tape to thereby corrupt the public service's capacity to monitor and regulate the business sector etc.
4. Yet Jacinta Price demanded greater accountability for 'Closing the Gap' funding while turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to what the Coalition delivers to 'BUSINESS'. Any non-indigenous person making such statements would cop flack for discriminating against First Nations Peoples by making such outrageous comments.
5. But the real shocker came when Jacinta Price declared that British Colonisation has been good for Aboriginal Peoples - Price thereby either denied or endorsed British Invasion of Aboriginal Lands, the massacres, the lacing of flour with arsenic used to kill off Aboriginal Peoples, squatting on Aboriginal Lands and claiming as their own, the theft of sacred artefacts sent off to British museums, the Stolen Generations and their forced incarceration with paedophile missionaries, the desecration of sacred sites.

I'm gob-smacked that Jacinta Price asserted that all of those atrocities were actually good for Australia's First Nations Peoples - I'm left wondreing if she just worships the introduction of European diseases as well.
