According to this journal article VRFB have a price point of EURO 0.16cents per KW.H with 20,000 cycles whereas new RFB batteries under development (organics) could drive costs down to Euro 0.05cents per kw/hr but only 10,000 cycles. My take is that it appears that with Vandium prices being depressed that this project wont gain financing until such time as there is industry consensus to rollout VRFBs or some other RFB or both in scale. How long it takes for them to figure out how to commercialize RFBs is the question being that they theortically have an unlimited shelf life and would have to be priced accordingly to consumers. Nothwithstanding, I am sure the case RFBs are put in would not have an unlimited life.
