Not from my memories as a child
Life was very hard in Australia
One income families as females did not work
Men work 2 jobs to support their family
Wages were low
My first job was $20 a week
No computers
No mobile phones
Many had no septic tanks Guys came around to empty your poo tin every Sunday
6pm closing of pubs
Pubs shut Sunday
Everyone bloody person smokes cigarettes Doctors smokes in the surgery
Black and white television but good programs
Cars were crap You could hear them rusting etc etc etc
Dentist gave you amalgam bloody filling and they hurt
etc etc etc
