    Somehow this is not surprising as it is pandering to the base.

    Setting up to spend a trillion dollars to encourage a North America battery supply chain. But then attacking miners with new proposed royalties and attacking the auto industry who were fully on board with a BEV future with proposed regulations to devalue the fuel economy credits BEV generate by 75% (while raising fleet fuel economy standards at the same time).

    And after getting automakers to agree to a target of 50% electrified vehicle sales by 2030, proposing regulations with huge costs on the premise that if automakers are planning for 50% it won't drive the cost of cars up hardly anything to force them to 60% with backhanded emissions regulations.

    Instead of having a coherent policy, it seems the emphasis is on agreeing to anything that will generate a green sound bight.
