    Oracle has a hosting platform called OCI. It competes against AWS, Azure, Google, etc. From the announcement the partnership provides all Oracle's global sales people and resellers with an ability to now sell both Emite and Snare running on OCI. Emite is a cloud platform and can run on OCI and Snare's Central platform can run on cloud platforms such as OCI too.

    I think Snare is exciting because there are thousands of organisations (by regulation) who require Compliance Reporting on all their logs. Check out the fines that companies in Australia have had to pay in just the last 12 months for lack of compliance. For compliance in Australia that would be under Essential8 or GDPR for Europe. What Snare's Central Solution hasn't had is that automated and marketed connection to the Cloud. In other words Snare previously would sell its solution as a software product and would rely on the client to use their cloud platform or on premise hardware and their teams to set it all up, so the connection between data and storage in the cloud became difficult. Smaller organisations would perhaps find this a bit too hard.

    What this does now is gives Oracle resellers and account execs an ability to sell Snare on an OCI cloud environment and so the selling becomes easier as the client has all the hardware infrastructure and setup work done in a secure hosted solution. A client needs to store their cyber data for forensics and now Oracle can say YES we have one of those rather than watch existing customers go elsewhere to another provider and also allows new name brands to be signed on. A good example is Microsoft and Sentinel on Azure. I am sure Oracle would love to keep some of those.

    The significance about this is that Oracle unlike other cloud platforms aren't just signing up new partners, they are selectively vetting those vendors and allowing those who align with their own goto market ideals. So I take that as not just another new partnership for PRO.
