I guess bigots have problems in understanding
others who are not in favour of war in the first instance
and as such do not 'barrack" for one side or the other.

In war it takes at least 2 to tango.

In this instance the Ukraine persisted with its intention
to join NATO despite both France & Germany warning
in Bucharest in May 2008 that this would lead to war
with Russia.

This is not a matter of which side is right or wrong
in power politics....its a matter of both sides locking horns
with the Ukraine being the weaker of the 2 and post Feb 2022
needing ongoing military and economic support from NATO;
particularly the USA.

Could the Ukraine avoided war?

IMO yes because it avoided war with Russia from 1991 to at least 2014

Could Russia have avoided war with the Ukraine?
IMO, yes.....by simply not invading the Ukraine
and not annexing the Crimea and not supporting the Donbas separatists

So in summary, there was no war until both agreed to "Tango"

If the Ukraine did not listen to France & Germany in 2008 then
that was its prerogative but as we have seen, (including Georgia)
there were consequences.
