Interesting move: (Developing an "Edge Box").
By partnering (rather than developing it themselves) they are transferring most of the risk to VVDN but no doubt providing them with plenty of technical support.
I see this as a strategy to increase market exposure of BRN technology as well as to create license revenue.
The Edge Box addresses a ubiquitous use-case and will shorten the development cycle for others to get products to market by not having to develop that part of the system needed for their own products or applications.
Brainchip would be avoiding developing and marketing their own products (other than chips or IP) so as not to be seen as potentially competing with customers, or having them concerned that their new widget might be replicated.
In my opinion.
