The reality is that Churches like the Catholic Church, Anglican, Salvation Army etc have a big part to play in the field of education (which is a concern of the State), health (e.g. Mater Hospitals), social issues (St Vincent De Paul) etc. So policies that could, for example, impact upon education, health, employment, housing affordability etc become issues of the Church.
