This might help you, a simple VWAP indicator on a 30min chart. Plus you can correlate the volumes.
I like your thinking but in my opinion you're looking to hard at it and trying to generate something that isn't there. Yes it's going to be heavily controlled once you have the might of the Insto registry and a large short/hedge position so just need to accept it. They all need to rebalance, add to, reduce to or simply take profits according to their commitments. Just got to go with it. IMO
