You omit 1942, the year the soviets finally got their dysfunctional military and Industry operating properly and gave the Nazi's their first bloody nose at Stalingrad. They then proceeded to drive them all the way back to Berlin.

History shows it normally takes the Russians a few year to click into gear on the battlefield and sort out military production.

And with an economy underpinned by energy exports a resource that is likely to keep shooting up in price due to disastrous Western energy policies they are in a strong position to see this war of attrition to the end.
