    The proposed Coalition alternative is too vague to be useful:

    They keep talking about 12 Mbps wireless networks for regional areas.

    Here in the U.S. we have been stuck with DSL for a long time, and just in the last year the cable companies are starting to come out with DOCSIS 3.0 networks that give up to 50 Mbps connections that really do test out to near that speed. I think 12 Mbps is simply too little and won't satisfy the need for speed.
