As somebody has already said on this post, this NBN will be strung from telegraph pole to telegraph pole then into peoples homes. Thats fantastic. Didn't we all kick up a stink when Optus came along and started stringing new cables through out the neighborhood, duplicating what Telstra already had, in competition to Telstra. So they are going to come around again and string more cables from our already crowded telegraph poles.

Then once it hits the homes the internet speed will crash down to what ever speed the existing modem is. What if people are quite happy with dial up? What about those people already with in our city that don't have cable access because it isn't practical for Telstra or Optus to run the cable? The Government hasn't answered that one.

Is this going to be another one of the half planned half witted ideas that Labor usually comes up with? Half thought out, no answers just hot air and spin?
Also, it will need some thing else at the consumer's end to allow it to operate won't it.
The good ole Motorola Surfboard modem that works with cable work certainly will not work with this new NBN. We'll all have to go and buy something else to plug in won't we.
With every thing that Labor has screwed up so far,
why on earth would you believe that it will cost only $43,000,000,000.00 to roll this out?
The home insulation scheme was costed too, except Labor forgot to add another billion dollars to fix the stuff ups.

Technology people in the know have already said it will cost double that, of course it will, we all know that.
I did read somewhere how old the costings were that Labor is relying on.

Yes, we need to consider updating our technology, agreed, but this NBN is another knee jerk Labor initiative that will blow out massively, will not deliver as promised, and we the taxpayer will pick up the pieces......again.
