    Serious investors read the most recent annual report in my opinion.

    If the most recent report said that production failed, or that the rate was far less than previously promoted by the appraisal results (in this hypothetical it would mean that the appraisal did not run long enough for more accurate results) e.g 0-500barrels/day, then a serious investor might choose to skip ASX:MAY and go elsewhere.
