over the next 70 years we can expect the global average temperature to reach 3 degrees above the pre-industrial average. we're now at 1.5 deg over and already we;'re seeing a strong increase in extreme weather system damage. just look around the globe over the last 5 years.
yeh suer, we've always had storms, floods, winds and hot, dry seasons but during these recent years theres been a marked increase in both severity and frequency.... just look at this last summer in northern regions with extreme temperatures, extreme fires followed quickly by extreme floods. these severe floods straight after fires wash away arable soils reducing the ability to farm crops and feed animals.
Now we're heading for our turn. we've had mild conditions for 3 years thanks to a prolonged La Niña and +ve Indian Ocean Dipole. now we're heading for dry again.
watch and prepare. I've started conserving water and I've planted native plants to survive through heat and lots of succulents around the house to prevent fire taking close.
