Righteous indignation about every perceived sleight, misdemeanour, misspoke, and a myriad of other micro-matters is the malaise of our times … wasted energy, distraction from purpose, missed real opportunities, lack of appreciation for our privileged circumstances by any almost any measure are our lot.

I wish politicians and media could focus on matters of real importance to Australia and Australians.

It would be an interesting study to compare how Qantas has fared in the post covid years within the global aviation industry. I suspect quite well, and that investors and the Board have much to be thankful for and proud of.

But no, simpleton, agenda driven politicians eager to draw cheers from the baying arena and fervent town criers of our times want to mindlessly fan a spectacle we should have seen the last of in the Roman Empire.

The new CEO and current Board will lose the strength gifted under the Joyce times if they mindlessly pander to the baying crowd.
