I didn't realise there is a director's cut of the film, so I don't know which version the ABC showed ?
I do, however, remember seeing the film in the cinema in around 1975-6, and then later seeing the film at the drive-in and much later again on television. There were scenes cut out of the drive-in and TV version. One of the main ones cut out was the scene at the very end where Stone got a right kicking from the bikie gang. Fancy cutting out that scene, that completely changes the story line.
But none the same, Stone is a classic Aussie film.
