In contrast to Sambuca, the Dougga gas condensate discovery is directly facing the substantially deeper Pantelleria graben area which is in the present day late oil to wet gas window for the Bou Dabbous source rock and in the (early) gas window for the deeper Fahdene source rock, respectively. The direct access to the Pantelleria graben explains the gas and condensate fluids found in Dougga-1. In addition the large depth of burial of the Cretaceous Abiod and Jurassic Nara carbonates results in CO2 generation through the thermal cracking of carbonates.

Sambuca is shielded from the deep kitchen area and directly faces the shallower and oil generating kitchen area to the north. Therefore oil in the Birsa sandstone is the most likely fluid content and rich condensate with 'SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED CO2 RISK' for the deeper Abiod carbonate reservoir is expected in Sambuca.
