Agree with you caketin I am a millwright by trade (and valuer by profession) have done many scale ups sometimes problems with insulation, incorrectly matched pumps to motors and incorrect sized pipeing , but rarely had an issue where the concept itself did not work when scaled up.
Had one case where we put a heat exchanger on the exhaust from a geothermal steam turbine and used the alloy pipes to cool the water what a mess small pieces of melted tubing all through the back end of the plant!
