BIT manages to pull off some amazing results - enough to result in commercial deals - and the current SO is a distant memory. I suspect that even a TO is more than possible.
The balancing argument is that the results need to be much better than mice gaining weight - if they are not brilliant then BIT still has some work to do.
A HIV treatment (I'll hold back from saying a cure) that can have a material impact on successfully treating AIDS is much akin to a cancer cure - holy grails in medical research.
