I don't really agree with you. If your friend says to you "Hey guess what, the doc gave me this test and it says I'm pre-diabetic so I'm making some lifestyle changes to nip it in the bud." that is good word of mouth. People are going to talk and discuss this amongst themselves and on forums etc. The best advertising you can ever have is word of mouth. Plenty of people would've heard about OxyContin thru health professionals, guess what..? That drug doesn't have good word of mouth.
