This may become relevant if the merger with Livent goes ahead:

Livent owns a lithium hydroxide plant in Zhangjiagang, China.

Two days ago, the first shipment of spod from Sayona Quebec was shipped to Zhangjiagang, taking 62 days to get there.

In two days time, a shipment of spod from PLS, will be arriving at the same port.

What are the chances, of two Australian lithium miners on opposite sides of the world, shipping spod to the same port where an American company owns a refinery?

On top of that, this American company is about to merge with our Australian company.

To me, that seems to be a helluva coincidence?

To add to that, another American company, (Albemarle) are building another lithium hydroxide refinery in Zhangjiagang, China as well.

You have to wonder, with that sort of involvement from non-Chinese (IRA compliant?) companies, are they trying to win favour with the US government to get the supply chains in motion?

Without some sort of Chinese involvement, US probably won’t be able to grow the ev revolution as quickly as they would like.
