- Next point is a bit over the top.

First part, well, mining for profit company concerns about mining. Their concern about mining and allowed to continue mining should be fair enough? Allowed mining by following agreements and regulations. Should they be concerned about solving world hunger instead?
The second part, "capitalising on natural resourses with complete disregard for environmental impacts", where and when that was said by VRX? Besides, isn't this thing that "the Society" commented on is about environmental issues. It's a requirement, no one is going to come out and say I don't care about environment, I just want to mine, mine and mine.
The tactic of projection, putting words into someone's mouth things they didn't say.

- Valid concern about the Cockatoo I guess, although the suggestion with replacement is a bit laughable. I guess their concern is not about how viable their suggestion is.
- Lastly, about SRE, are the faunas there so unique that they're not in other places. Or when they say extinction, they don't mean the extinction of whole species, but just specific in area? Probably the latter, makes more sense that way.
