    I cannot see that scenario of some "deal" being done having legs. It would be a legal minefield, as if there have been discussions and say a heads of agreement or similar indicative arrangement, then I believe they would legally be "Associates". That would have big implications where their holdings would be amalgamated for Substantial Shareholder notices and also now that it appears the sum of their two holdings is over 20%, then the takeover threshold would have been breached requiring a full offer to all shareholders (ie.no scheme).

    If revealed in the future, they could well be sued by LTR (using injunctive relief to stop the process) or regulators could require the unwinding of the takeover/scheme through the courts.
