I have been reading the news over the weekend wondering if gold will have a similar run as it did when war broke out in the Ukraine.
Israel has announced a state of war and the US has already stepped in saying it'll join in.

They say that history rhymes and if it does then that 2k gold you are looking for may actually be a realistic ST target.

Looking back at the gold chart and it started climbing just before war was officially announced in the Ukraine but once was announced the run really gathered steam. That run may have been somewhat short-lived but gold price did rise about 15% over that initial war period.

If you are to take golds current position then a 15% run would take us back right around that very same level (over 2k)

What is more interesting and way more exciting for NST holders is during that same run up in gold price NST managed to climb around 40%!!!

Unfortunately both POG and NST only saw a short time in the sun before getting whacked again but the prospect of anything even remotely close to that run is pretty encouraging

I am by no means saying gold is going to the moon from here but if history does indeed rhyme then that potentially takes both gold and NST back to their recent highs.

I do trade probabilities and wouldn't want to stake my life on a 40% run for NST from here but have done a comparison chart as a 'what if' a similar scenario played out...

As for your comments on oil markets, I do think a war in Israel could have huge consequences for oil in particular and potentially equities if things escalate further, especially with Biden leaving the US so vulnerable after recklessly draining the SPR.

Anyway, I'll leave that there as just thought I'd offer some comparison charts if recent history is anything to go on.

Reading the news over the weekend I can feel nothing but grateful we live in such a conflict free country...
