Prity sure they use the bubble system same as Autonomous mining fleet. There was mention of something similar back in the day. If that's the case a person would have a device that puts an imaginary bubble around them, the boom would also have one. If the bubbles come within a certain distance of each other the boom would shut off and hold still.
I think there has been videos out of HX with people working at the same time. However, it will likely stay in small numbers.
