In the last few decades I've heard the phrase "were running out of..........", dozens of times. We've never run out of anything, not gold, water, oil, air, food, sand, silver etc... you name it, someone's predicted it.
This isn't 1900 where it was dug out by hand, this is the age of huge machines, new communications, transport and technology.
