Completely agree and other than the blatant lies, insults, disrespect for our opinions and the underlying racism of this demand being made, I get the strong feeling that corporate and minor celeb influence is one of the things that has gotten up the noses of most Australians.
I think its time to put a stop to the undue influence of many of these groups over the political process in this country. A democracy is supposed to be 1 person = 1 vote but in reality we have corporations, unions, religious leaders, minor celebrity has-beens, and professional lobbyist from special interest groups all asserting more influence than the rest of us.
When Albo and his mates recent when to Mosques and convinced the Omans to preach to their worshipers to vote yes I felt sick. The quid pro co between Albo and other parties such as Qantas shows that he doesn't even believe in democracy. The political process and our laws are up for sale, or more appropriately up for a trade !
If we are going to have a referendum lets vote on a mandate which outlaws this type of behavior by all future governments.
