Good discussion going tonight. I started watching the David Beckham series on Netflix which I was enjoying but now I have completely stopped watching as the forum is more interesting...lol.
How would the share price drop? I am guessing news of the deal being blocked, and no immediate bid from Gina, would allow the large number of borrowed shares (short shares) to start selling to drive the price down. This momentum would build and drive fear into the share price, allowing shorters to exit and profit on the majority of their shares.
Never short sold any shares and no expert on this but just using my noggin. It maybe more sophiticated than this?
