Looks like EVs are here for good, and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) power storage will save us when the wind dies and the sun goes out (lol)
At present there is no viable alternative to Li Ion - but others will emerge - and I expect advances in Li tech will keep them at bay. Lithium is just a magnificent tiny ion for doing whats needed in a battery.
Just IMO.
