Another new deal happening now. Codelco supposedly offering A315mill for ASX junior, LPI for its lithium brine asset in Chile. A quick Google search shows the following JORC resource; "The result of which was a 90% increase from its 2019 JORC resource of 1 million to 1.9 million tonnes of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE) for the Stage One (Old Code) mining properties at an average grade of 953 mg/l lithium.16 Sept 2022
It remains to be seen if they will need to up the offer but at 1.9mill tonne LCE, the initial offer comes in at $166/t LCE. LPI stage 1 15,200 tpa Lithium CarbonateBattery Grade for 20 years • USD 1.4 Bn after-tax NPV • Capex: US$ 626 M • Cash Cost: US$ 3,718/t
FUTURE EXPANSIONExpansion potential to reach up to 30,000 t/a of LCE. Stage Two will use DLEtechnology to produce 15,000 t/a of LCE.
If LPI's 15,200tpa project has an after tax NPV of US$1.4bill, I wonder what NPV our project would have with 4-5 times the output capacity?
