For mine the great take home from the process is how little Australians understand about the Constitution, the role it plays and our system of governance in general.
The Constitution is for guiding principals only. When the constitution says: we will have a defense force.... do you expect to know where all the bases are going before you agree ? we will have a high court.... do you expect to know the names of the judges before you agree?
The detail is thrashed out in legislation once the principal is agreed to. The most surprising thing is the group who does not seem to grasp this even remotely is the liberal party.
