RegularASX appreciate your input especially since you don't hold. Your steady hands steadied mine today. Better luck tomorrow...

Thanks so much for your BHPADR tuition Mong and Win (abbr ok?). Nice.
Mong... like your gap remark but feel it wont hold this one up tomorrow... US permarket slightly lower BHP open as at 20.32. BHP surely has to up its bid (street says 130 bid really unlikely to succeed and next could be as high as 180, notwithstanding entry of other bids etc. Also that the deal was probab meant to be hush (FoxBusiness)and waqs leaked... and now POTs price is shooting up and BHP oauted and forded to go hostile. Almost eggs others on... One commentator used the words 'just walk away' Marius... others expressing concern re credit re rating and debt levels.

Master of Sin your point re near miss with RIO being felt here. Share your sentiment. Not overly impressed. Short term buffeting a surety. Share your thoughts re cost blow out. Fear the same blow out. Happy to leave the deal and walk.

Kacy...l agree with your point that there is a need for MK to do a deal of any sort... that is to expand returns by positioning at markets earliest turn which l believe ls quite upon us. Feeling very bullish in general and looking forward to Mondays trading in everything except BHP. This M and A activity will buoy the market otherwise with BHPOs SP suffering in the short term. Dream of a $35 entry.

Bingy...think you might be right re downside. Havent seen your screens... but remember that Sps often bounce from band to band, and that a spike through a bollinger band is indicative of exhaustion and is a trend reversal indicator. I use bollinger bands a lot and find them indispensible.

Mong your vol stats are right...massive selloff. Further dips on low volume, therefore not convincing, could be worth getting into. Will watch further vols closely. Today around 46, yesterday 9, then 10, then 9. Mong l read you have the beginning of a bear run down when the latest days vol is more than the last three combined...

Easterly... steady at the helm. Agree in total... cynical like you. Really trying to see good situation in bad if l can. Hard isn't it. This isn't a casino and we are not lined up. I chose to wait. And then walk confidently to the front of the line. This isn't over yet and could develop many ways. Watch this space.

Mong l agree the upcoming diversion will be sapping. This could be protracted, intense, muddy, competitive, and costly. Already re ratings being considered. Unknown ramifications and uncertainty will weigh. This is a huge cost to BHP. Our cash is staggering yes but this move really is colossal. No place for leadership politics now l agree. But l see it coming poss too.

Otherwise l am bullish and look to a bounce come Monday onwards providing there is no hung Parliament issues. Reporting season is largely over and with some stunning results and TLS the only real blip, we are well positioned my friends.

The all important outlook statements have all been cautiously cautious and quietly and unspokenly optimistic. Because this is Australia and we cut down tall poppies and we don't gush...

bhpadr down 1.1% at 21.21 on US premarket...

Hold on BHP holders and trade well because its going to get rocky.
Mongo your caution is well heeded
    regards
