Such as it was, it was "successful", so were the early trials by Osiris. But the better quality phase 3 randomised trials by Osiris failed. That's why SI would spend 3 years and hundreds of millions clinging on to favorable the results of a poor quality single arm trial rather than do a more reliable one. It could just as easily have been a chance result, so the FDA aren't buying it and want a proper demonstration. Do it again, properly this time.
