I'll be waiting too see the next approval/disapproval ratings of the respective leaders OT.... fair enough Dutton seems right in your eyes, but I wouldn't count on a tsunami of support coming to flood away the Labs.

further, the State/Territory Govs are acting in the best interests to close the book on Aboriginal people's demands for treaty. Aus is the only British colonial country, and there are many, that have never made a treaty with their First Nations people. it's an established protocol of addressing the carnage on invasion/colonisation. it settles past grievances once and for all, provided both parties maintain good faith unlike the colonial bad faith breaches under the Treaty of Waitangi.

once the States have done their treaties, the federal Gov should also do a treaty with Aboriginal people to complete the coverage of redress. after this there will be no further grounds for first Aussies to make further demands.

imo "truth telling " should come first though so that all Aussies know why treaties need to be settled.
