Posted today, it features a Q&A with CEZ's Director of Emobility - Tomáš Dzurilla. Pretty good read, extract of interest:

"What is currently most needed to be done for the further development of electromobility?

Tomáš Dzurilla: In the coming years, the number of electric cars in the Czech Republic may increase to several hundred thousand. The Czech Republic has the prerequisites for this, it has a robust transmission and distribution network. It can cope without any problems with the volumes of electricity that electric cars would need in the numbers specified, for example, in the National Clean Mobility Action Plan. Just to give you an idea: The average consumption of such 250-500,000 electric cars comes out to roughly 0.78-1.56 TWh/year. And for comparison - the annual production of the Temelín nuclear power plant is around 15 TWh.

Rather, we see a weak point in the binding and inconsistent permit procedures in the Czech environment. The unclear concept of station construction on the part of the operator of the Czech highway network is also a certain obstacle.

In any case, electromobility means a whole chain of activities for us. It's not just about finished cars or simply building stations. For example, we are preparing a lithium production project in Cínovec, we are supporting the gigafactory project and we are continuing to expand the largest charging network in the Czech Republic. In addition, we increase the representation of electric cars in our own fleet and promote electric drive among our own employees, who have the opportunity to use electric models in the corporate rental office."
