so, let's bring ourselves up to the present
humans and science now are trying very very hard to find life somewhere other than on earth ---
we're getting really serious with some really great tech at looking about the sky for evidence of life - and mostly, scientists think that we will find it pretty soon.
then, of course we will be looking for signs of intelligent life - not just some kind of bacteria living in dust.
So - imagine now, that Eureka - we found it. Way off in - drollala land on a planet, a goldilocks planet we know that there is intelligent life ------------------ bingo.
miraculously, just at the same time - Bill Gates and Elon sitting sharing a mindexpanding joint - have invented a machine that can safetly take us humans straight to drollala - and the trip only takes a couple of weeks.
Whoosh - what a rush that is ----------------- so, we pack the wheelie, we pack the backpack, we put in all kinds of gifts and off we go to see the good ???????? beings of drollala.
We arrive - miraculously to find as we carefully go into their orbit - that the radio crackles and they speak our language - they tell us that they knew we were coming and that they worked out the language - and please - 'come on down'
so, in we go to land.
Handshakes and hugs all round. They ain't half bad looking either - and very friendly. As we walk off the landing strip with them - they glide, they don't seem to need to walk, we notice all kinds of really hi tech tech, they are way advanced.
So as we get invited for drinks - we sit there in a comfortable welcoming lounge with our wheelie and our backpack beside us
and they ask us -------------- well, tell us about yourselves. What have you done and how do you live.
We say, -------- well, through the history of humans, we go places. We kill the people there and we then live more advanced lives. Of course we don't kill them on purpose all the time, sometimes we spread disease and sometimes those people that we visit just can't cope and have more or less died out.
At this point, the head being of drollala beckons over a robot servant and says to it - 'please bring me a mask and do tell the chef that it will be only us for dinner, our guests will not be staying'
now - think about it seriously ---------- if humans go to another planet. What do you think that we are going to do that is any different to what we've done in the past?????
