Rates being cut should improve market sentiment. The current market is bone dry of money. This isn't an if, but a when. Money will not stay on the sidelines when this occurs. Economists were projecting May for cuts to start, but have since pushed it back a few months.
"The Australian Financial Review's survey of 42 economists suggests the Reserve Bank will cut interest rates in August 2024."
For Talga, an optimistic near-term outlook would be: Inflation eases, rates start getting cut just over halfway through 2024 (but priced in a few months before), projected graphite shortfall for 2025 eventuates, Talga completes construction on anode plant by 2025 and starts production. The timing could work out very nicely with Talga beginning to print money at the start of a new bull market.
