The longer this whingefest goes on, the more everyday Australians will be turned off by anything to do with Indigenous advancement. Aussies hate sore losers, they hate being patronised, they are fiercely proud of their egalitarianism, and I don't think the silent majority are going to put up with this kind of tantrum for much longer.

It's not the outcome to the referendum that is "shameful"; it's the reaction to it - now bordering on the bizarre. I've never seen this type of thing in Australian politics before, and it merely reinforces how out of touch the Aboriginal activists are with political reality.
