In the washout it will be the libs forming government with the help of some independents but we only have ourselves to blame as we have had the poorest choice of major party candidates in living memory.

Now the Greens are becoming an influence with 1 becoming MP and the possiblity of an ex green winning a seat. The Senate will have 9 green senators from July which give it effective control of the Senate. In two more elections I can see the possibilty of 10 Lower House Green MP's which will provide for an interesting political landscape. All in all similar to Germany's current status which hasn't been at all detrimental to Germany's growth and economy so no need to go out and jump in front of a bus......yet.

Ultimately, whoever forms government will be handed the poison chalice for I have no doubt the next 3 years hold some tumultuos times with GFC2 bearing down on us so it will be interesting to see if the rhetoric is backed up by substance.

For us old farts times are a changing and gen y has spoken. They have the baton now and its time to take the backstalls.

We now live in interesting times!
