    GINA Rinehart’s intervention in Albemarle’s A$6.6 billion takeover bid for Kathleen Valley lithium developer Liontown was brutal stuff.

    The 19.9% blocking stake assembled by her Hancock Prospecting in opposition to Albemarle's $3 a share meant bid meant the required 75% shareholder approval was unlikely to reached.
