    if you care to read, as I suggested, the entire report, you'll find the sexual abuse is far more nuanced than that single statistic. from the RC into institutional sexual abuse far more Aboriginal kids are in foster care and in prisons etc where sexual abuse is committed by non-specific, non-family 'carers'.

    yes Aboriginal kids are more likely to be sexually abused - doesn't this tell you something important? but read more into this number and realise that family sexual abuse is higher among non_Aboriginal families than Aboriginal families.

    sexual abuse, as with all other forms of abuse and neglect is far more subject to other factors than family circumstance. If non-Aboriginal kids were subjected to the same conditions there would be a much louder outcry.... but Aboriginal kids in some form of custody attracts far less attention.
