Then - hypothetically, how much damage would be done to the price if a major supporting broker shorted a heap of stock on the day it reopened to knock the price down incredibly....put out a downgraded price target and then started to buy those shares back cheaper?

I hate with a passion this insane shorting that is permitted to happen on ASX stocks.
It's immoral and dirty imo....
