"Delayed and Doubtful" was referring to the whole (generalised) DLE approach....not specific to Lilac Solutions or Lake Resources.

As per the article:
"Doubtful and delayed were adjectives murmured by delegates at the 15th Fastmarkets Lithium Supply and Battery Raw Materials conference in Henderson, Nevada, in June, rather than direct when referring to the direct lithium extraction (DLE) technologies touted as the means to deliver the lithium the world needs for lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems."

This is also the same article that stated "DLE uses three times more water". Oh dear! The Lilac Ion Exchange DLE flowsheet uses multiples LESS water - as described in webinar#2 by Jonathan Neilsen:
"We won't talk in in in specifics about each stage of the of the process necessarily, but we look at it as an overall water consumption for the project - that's what we're trying to minimise and that's what our goal is. The design that we have right now and everything that we're targeting is for a 10 m3/T of LCE produced water consumption. You'll be able to see in the slide deck on the diagram that we have multiple points of water recovery. We use reverse osmosis, evaporation - many steps within the process to recover the water that we use and recycle it and keep that water going in a loop which is typical for hydrometallurgical processes so that we minimise the water consumption that we have. Again, going back, we've said it a couple of times now, one of the advantages for ion exchange and Lilac technology is that it helps us keep that water consumption very low."

The upcoming DFS will have all of the detail to confirm the specific status for Lilac and Lake. Bring on December!
