I was at the AGM and felt it was harmonous and orderly. Chair of Rem Committee answered questions very well and she came to talk to some of the questioners in person. There were more KMP's and Directors, plus legal guy and audit rep, than shareholders by my estimation.
The only female director up for re-election has, I counted, 4 other NED roles, and the new male director, ex GE and Westpac is starting out building a portfolio of NED roles.
Has to be a question asked about how many NED roles one can do justice to.He has good background in Consumer Credit, as many will know they have huge Consumer and Capital finance busienss and GE would have been No 5 bank in Australia, if they were licensed.
GE had near death experience in GFC, on the back of their GE Capital business, which nearly took the 100yo company (only foundation member of Dow Jones Top 20, to the wall. That is great training ground.
Thomas is smooth as silk and has 15y in the company. They are recruiting a COO to run US business, which will cost them quite a bit, but should pay off if they get the right type of person.
