In fairness Kevol arguably has/had a better understanding for the Blackspur assets than anyone at Calima. Not sure as to your assertion that Karl's now the operational head because he's an O & G engineer, seems more an internal default appointment to me & one that Whiddon can control. Kevol's reasons for departure were never really articulated, nor was his CFO's departure at around the same time. Indeed their departures were not pre-warned of but folded into/piggybacked on the hype of a failed asset transaction. Whiddon's been evasive over the executive departures as well as the approaches he claims Calima has fielded. When they came out of the trading halt post the transaction failing to close it was made apparent interest in the Blackspur assets was still on the boil and Whiddon went as far as to say another proposal in a short time would not be unexpected. Since then, crickets. And that Sharetrader78 is how Whiddon heads this company......he'll allude to a feast on offer but you don't see crumbs.

I hope your enthusiasm for Whiddon's spin comes to fruition as I unfortunately have a significant holding here. I don't trust him considering that under his stewardship Calima has failed on virtually every significant milestone/target they have targeted. Historically they either fall short, move the target or eventually abandon it. If a transaction miraculously does eventuate I suspect it will be in the context of favourable industry dynamics with an uplift in commodity prices where a 'rising tide lifts all boats' & not due to the acumen of the executive. I'd love to be proven wrong of course.
